The employer or sponsor needs to issue a certificate of sponsorship to the migrant employee. In some cases the certificate of sponsorship can only be issued after the advertising also known as resident labour market test, which is done for a period of 28 days.
The Tier 2 Visa UK is divided into 4 categories:
You need a total of 50 points or more in order to qualify under this category:
30 points are to be sponsored under sponsorship section.
10 points under English Language section.
10 points under the maintenance section.
The points are awarded for sponsorship as following:
Conditions | Points |
If job is under the shortage occupation list | 50 |
If job has met Resident labour market test | 30 |
If you are switching from Tier 4 or PSW programme | 30 |
The minimum salary requirement under this category is £20800.00 However the salary should still be according to Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) Codes if higher than £20,800.
You should have £945 in available funds, which have been in your bank account for the last 90 days before the date of your application OR alternatively your sponsor can certify your maintenance on the Certificate of Sponsorship.
