There are a number of ways to apply to join family living permanently in the UK. You will need a ‘family of a settled person’ visa if you’re from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and want to come and live with your existing family members in the UK.
In order to qualify for a family member visa, your family member should be present and settled in the UK. They should have settled in the UK, be a British citizen, have humanitarian protection, or have refugee status in the UK.
The eligibility requirements to apply to join family live permanently in the UK, include:
The applicant must be 18 or over, unless they are a child
You must have a recognised relationship with the family member
The applicant must intend to live with their partner or family member in the UK after they apply
The family member can provide the applicant with adequate accommodation in the UK
The applicant can understand, speak and write in English (unless they are under 18 or an adult dependent family member).
There are a number of reasons why you may want to join your family who are already living permanently in the UK. For example, you may want to join your partner; for this, you would utilise the UK marriage visa, unmarried partner visa, or fiance visa routes. Alternatively, you may be looking to join your parent, in which case you would need to apply for a parent of a UK child visa. Finally, you may want to live permanently in the UK in order to look after your child, or to be looked after by family members.

We prepare and finalise your application for submission and book you an appointment in the country where you provide your biometrics. We prepare detailed representations for the Home Office or UKV&I in reference to the Immigration Rules (at this stage, you will pay the remaining 50% of our fee). If there is a delay to the processing of your family member visa, we will then chase the application for you.
