Salary Changes to the Skilled Worker Occupation

On the 23 February 2023 Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) has recently conducted a rapid review in connection with salary list and have come up with the salary changes which will be implemented from 04 April 2024. Mainly the changes are as follows –

  • The shortage occupation list (SOL) will be replaced by the Immigration Salary List (ISL);
  • No more 20% discount for the shortage occupation list will be available;
  • Salary to be raised from £26,200 to £38,700 for roles not under health and care worker category or SOL/ISL;
  • The roles in ISL will have a threshold of £30,960 or according to the occupation code, whichever is higher;
  • Roles under Health and Care will have a minimum threshold of £23200 or their pay scale, whichever is higher;
  • Roles under Health and Care not on pay scale will have a minimum salary of £29000 if not on SOL or ISL;
  • Occupations under the Health and Care will also be based on salary got the national
  • There is a reduction in the number of Shortage occupation List, specially for the roles having a higher salary
