If you are married to or in a civil partnership with someone who is a British citizen, and you have received your indefinite leave to remain, you can apply for British citizenship by way of

Nationality Act 1981.
You can apply for British Citizenship as a partner by way of ‘naturalisation’ if you meet the following requirements:
You must be aged 18 or older
You must be married to or in a civil partnership with someone who is a British citizen.
You must have lived for at least three years in the UK before the date of your application.
You should not have broken any UK immigration laws during your residency in the UKduring the last 5 years.
You must prove your knowledge of English, Welsh, or Gaelic language
You must pass the ‘Life in the UK’ test
You must be of a ‘good character.’
One of the key requirements for you to apply for British Citizenship by way of ‘naturalization’ is that you must have lived in the UK for at least three years before the date of your application.
You should not have spent more than 270 days outside the UK during the qualifying three years and not more than 90 days in the last 12 months.
You cannot include any time spent in the UK as a
diplomat
member of a diplomat’s staff or household
member of visiting armed forces
You may be exempt from the minimum three years residence requirements if your partner works abroad either for the UK government or an organization that is closely associated with the UK government.
